A PCB house that also assembles

Hitech Circuits Co., Limited was founded in Shenzhen in May 1997 and has stayed in one line of business: printed circuit boards and the assemblies built on them. Fabrication runs from 1 to 38 layers at 50,000 m² per month, and the same company sources the components, assembles the boards and boxes the product.

Three lines of work run under one roof: quick-turn prototypes, small and medium-volume rigid boards, and flexible printed circuit and assembly services. High-multilayer, HDI, flexible, rigid-flex, heavy-copper, high-frequency and ceramic designs are all built in-house — the process limits for each of them are on the capability page.

Fabrication and assembly in the same building

The board does not change supplier between bare-board finish and assembled unit. Stack-up, surface finish, impedance targets and assembly panelisation are decided once, in one engineering review, and the fabrication floor and the SMT lines work from the same drawing set. It also removes the handover where a soldering problem becomes a dispute between a board shop and an assembly house: both sides of that conversation sit here.

  • Turnkey: the Gerber set and the BOM go out, finished tested product comes back.
  • Partial turnkey: the customer supplies the bare boards or certain components, the rest is handled here.
  • Consignment: the customer supplies all parts and the assembly work is done to their data package.

Order models are described on the PCB assembly services page, and the individual processes on PCB manufacturing.

The limits we quote are the limits we publish

A quotation is only useful if the process can repeat it. The figures below are the published limits, not promotional targets, and a data package that falls outside them is reviewed in DFM before the price is fixed rather than after:

  • Layer count: 1–38 layers, HDI from 4 to 16 and flex or rigid-flex from 2 to 16
  • Minimum line and space: 0.075 mm rigid, 0.05 mm flexible, 0.1 mm metal-core traces
  • Smallest hole: 0.1 mm laser-drilled, 0.15 mm mechanically drilled, 15:1 aspect ratio
  • Copper weight: 0.5–20 oz outer, 0.5–10 oz inner
  • Board size: up to 580 × 1900 mm, thickness 0.1–6.0 mm
  • Impedance control: ±10 %, verified on an impedance test system in the materials lab

Engineering looks at the data package first

An order starts with DFM, DFA and DFT review against the fabrication and assembly limits, so panelisation, annular ring, solder-mask clearance and component spacing are resolved before tooling. Stencils are laser-cut on site and delivered within four hours, so a first article can be run the same day the bare boards are finished — prototypes come back in 1–3 days and medium volume in 4–10 days. The published delivery windows are 1–3 days at the fastest, 5–8 working days on the standard queue, and 2 working days expedited at a premium.

Where a design needs a change, the customer hears it from the engineer who priced the job, and the quality assurance department keeps the inspection records for that build — first-article report, in-process measurements and final test data.

Quality systems that travel with the order

Certified systems are what make a Chinese supply chain usable for regulated products, so the certificates are held for the markets customers actually sell into:

  • ISO 9001:2015 — the general quality management system
  • IATF 16949:2016 — automotive, including PPAP documentation
  • ISO 13485:2016 — medical devices
  • ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 — environment, and occupational health and safety
  • UL E354070 — UL recognition of the boards
  • RoHS and REACH — material declarations, with screening reported by SGS

Copies of the issued certificates are on the certifications page; the inspection equipment and the published quality objectives are on quality assurance.

Every board is 100 % electrically tested before it ships, and inspection follows IPC-6012B and IPC-A-600H as well as the acceptance criteria agreed with the customer. The test data travels with the shipment, so the record of what was measured exists outside the plant as well as inside it.

Where a program fits

The plants serve industrial controls, automotive, medical, telecommunications, renewable energy, LED lighting and consumer electronics, from a single prototype lot to repeat production. Board families used most often are multilayer, HDI, flex, rigid-flex, aluminium and metal-core and heavy-copper boards.

How a program starts

Send the Gerber set, the BOM with reference designators, quantities and the test requirements. Enquiries are answered within 1 working day, and a complete data package is quoted within 24 to 48 hours. Engineering reviews the files against the published limits, DFM findings come back with the quotation, and prototypes are on the line in days rather than weeks.

Confidentiality, payment and visits

  • NDA — a mutual non-disclosure agreement can be signed before any Gerber or BOM file is exchanged, covering drawings, the bill of materials and test specifications.
  • Factory visits — the Shenzhen and Meizhou plants are open to customer visits by appointment, and the line walk follows the processes the programme actually uses.
  • Payment and delivery terms — payment is by bank transfer (T/T). Orders are quoted EXW Shenzhen, or DDP where the buyer prefers a delivered price.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does Hitech Circuits actually manufacture?

Rigid, HDI, flexible, rigid-flex, metal-core and ceramic PCBs from 1 to 38 layers, and the assemblies built on them: component sourcing, SMT and through-hole assembly, cable and harness work, conformal coating, firmware loading and box build. Monthly PCB capacity is 50,000 m², run by 690 staff across the Shenzhen and Meizhou sites.

  • Why buy fabrication and assembly from one supplier?

A board does not change supplier between bare-board finish and assembled unit. The stack-up, surface finish, impedance targets and assembly panelisation are fixed once, in one engineering review, so a discrepancy between the bare board and the stencil cannot be passed between two vendors.

  • Which quality systems cover the work?

ISO 9001:2015 for the general quality system, IATF 16949:2016 for automotive programs, ISO 13485:2016 for medical devices, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 for environment and safety, and UL recognition under file E354070. Boards are RoHS compliant and REACH screening is reported by SGS.

  • How fast can a first article be delivered?

Prototypes come back in 1–3 days and medium-volume boards in 4–10 days, with stencils laser-cut on site and delivered within four hours. A complete data package — Gerber set, BOM and test requirements — is quoted within 24 to 48 hours.

  • What if the design needs unusual materials or heavy copper?

High-frequency laminates from Rogers, Arlon, Taconic and Nelco, high-Tg and halogen-free FR-4, aluminium and copper base laminates and ceramic substrates are held in stock, and outer-layer copper runs to 20 oz, so heavy-copper and mixed-material designs stay inside one build.
