Why Start with Quick Turn Fabrication

The first order is a test of the design and of the supplier. A quick-turn lot answers both cheaply.

Why First-time Customers Should Consider Quick Turn PCB Fabrication

Test the design

A small lot validates footprints, stackup and assembly. Fixing a footprint after volume tooling costs far more than the price difference between quick turn and standard.

Test the supplier

You learn how the engineering review is handled, how questions are answered and what the first article report looks like — before the project is critical.

Test the logistics

Customs, packing and shipping terms are easier to correct on a small shipment. Agree Incoterms and documentation on the first order.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What can go wrong on a first order?

Usually the assumptions: a stackup that cannot hold the impedance, a footprint that does not match the package, or a test plan that needs more access. A small lot exposes all three before volume tooling is committed.

  • Does a quick-turn price hide something?

It reflects priority and process time, not lower quality. The boards pass the same inspection; what changes is the queue position and sometimes the finish or stackup options available within the window.
