Send Gerbers, BOM and assembly notes. A DFM review before tooling is where most avoidable cost is removed.
Fabrication, assembly and test may run in one plant or across suppliers; ask which applies and who owns a defect found at test.
Agree Incoterms, packing and documentation early. Customs and freight decide the real delivery date as much as the production schedule.
The specification (layer count, material, finish, copper weight), the acceptance standard (for example IPC-A-610 for assembly), the test plan and the shipping terms. Putting them in the purchase order avoids most disputes later.
With lot records. If the boards, parts and process data are traceable, a claim can be reviewed against the build file. Without traceability, the discussion becomes an opinion exchange.
